Carlos next court hearing is Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Carlos Montes has declared himself “not guilty” on 6 felony charges, dealing with an alleged 42-year old arrest and firearms code violations.Montes’ arrest is part of the FBI attack on 23 other antiwar and solidarity activists.
 

Students for a Democratic Society condemns the actions of UC Davis police Lt. John Pike, Chief Annette Spicuzz and Chancellor Linda Katehi which led directly to the injury of students exercising their rights on the campus of UC Davis. The act of police brutality committed by officer Pike led to the hospitalization of two students as well as the arrest and injury of others. The students were brutally and violently attacked by campus police for protecting their Occupy space, which had previously received the approval of both the student government and Chancellor Katehi herself.

SDS holds National Convention, student movement growing

Students for a Democratic Society fully endorses the expanding movement known as Occupy Wall Street, as well as the thousand+ occupations that are occurring across the country. Students for a Democratic Society recognizes that students are in the midst of a debt crisis and are affected by an economy that is hurting young people very badly as they leave college buried under debt.
